Chelsea Cohen is a senior at Norwalk High School who has been
battling a rare and debilitating cancer for two years. She was a
star soccer player and is now almost completely paralysed. It is
obviously a very sad and difficult story. The St Philip Youth Group
and Confirmation Candidates decided to dedicate their spring service
project to Chelsea. They hosted one of four car wash/bake sales and,
together with other youth groups, the NJSA and the Norwalk High
School, raised over $12,000 to help her family pay for her
overwhelming medical expenses. The St Philip Secret Service
surprised Chelsea and her Mom and raked, trimmed and planted tons of
flowers in her yard. Mayor Moccia officially proclaimed the day
"Chelsea Cohen Day" and gave Chelsea a key to the city. It was a
very special day.
