Stewardship

September 2018

Dear Disciple of St Philip:

Stewardship 2018 begins with a big THANK YOU!

Thank you for remaining a faithful disciple, an active member of St. Philip Parish.  Thank you for sharing the many gifts of Time, Talent, and Treasure that God has given to each one of you!

In the past year we have accomplished much as a parish family: New ceiling and lights for the school hall, Painting the church entrances, painting the exterior of the rectory, installating  a votive candle stand, continuing the mission of eradicating  World Hunger through the CRS FoodFast and Midnight Run, etc. We were able to accomplish all of the above because of your prayers and support. Your Pledge of TIME, TALENT AND TREASURE enables our faith community to keep our ministries growing and our buildings maintained.   We are joyfully looking forward to all the possibilities and potential your continued support will provide in the coming year.

On the Parish web site and in the brochure attached, there are many ways to offer your TIME and TALENT; and, on the reverse of this page are some ways to offer your TREASURE toward the day-to-day operating expenses, and our “wish list”.  Donations may be made in cash, check, transfer of securities, or electronic giving. Also, please remember St. Philip Parish in your estate planning. If you are required to take payouts from your IRAs, donating them directly to St. Philip may save on taxes. Your response to this 2018 Stewardship Appeal will be gratefully recognized in our weekly bulletin.

This letter would be incomplete if I were not to acknowledge the present crisis facing our Church. I share the anger and frustration that many of you are feeling right now. I am fully confident in the leadership of Bishop Caggiano in this matter; and, as mentioned in his letter of August 18, 2018, we are demanding accountability and justice.  As our diocese and the entire church in the United States work on renewing and strengthening ourselves, let us continue in our Faith Commitment to our Lord and to the parish. I assure you of my prayers for you and your loved ones especially during these difficult times.

Yours in Christ,

Fr. Sudhir Dsouza, Pastor
